Portraits with Purpose

Behind every portrait lies a story — a deeply personal narrative woven with truth, love, hardship, fear, joy, strength, and resilience. Most importantly, it’s a story that only one person can tell. I often think about those who don’t have access to cameras or smartphones — those who may never have the chance to capture their own image. When their lives come to an end, what remains? Memories. Stories. Legacies that we hope are passed down to future generations.

God has blessed each of us with unique gifts. He gave me the gift of photography — and with it, a deep appreciation for the power and purpose of a single image. One day, perhaps over a cup of coffee, I’d love to share the incredible journey God has taken me on to get here. As I reflect on my purpose, on the path God continues to unfold before me, I realize this calling is not just about taking portraits — it’s about using this gift to serve others.

That’s what Portraits with Purpose is all about.

Our mission is simple: to share the love of Jesus through the lens of photography. Whether working alongside local organizations or traveling with missionaries to underserved communities, we aim to offer more than a photo — we offer dignity, connection, and hope.

This mission is far bigger than one person. If you feel called to join us — one portrait at a time — we would be honored to connect with you.

Meet Peter

Feb. 2017

One Sunday morning during church, our pastor shared the story of a family in our congregation who was hosting a young boy from Uganda named Peter. He had traveled all the way to the United States to receive a life-saving heart surgery. As I listened, I felt the Holy Spirit stirring within me, quietly whispering the word: “Share.”

I found myself asking, “Lord, what would You have me share?” Deep down, I already knew the answer. After the service, I walked over to the volunteer table and signed up.

A few weeks later, I received an update about Peter. Moved by his story, I invited him and his host family to our studio for a portrait session. We printed and laminated the portraits and delivered them, along with a small gift bag, before Peter returned to Uganda.

I'll never forget the look on his aunt's face. Her reaction was indescribable — a moment of gratitude and emotion that spoke louder than words. I can only imagine how much those portraits will mean to their family for years to come.

My prayer is that through these images, Peter and his loved ones will feel the depth of the love that surrounds them — not only from the people who have come alongside them, but from a God who sees and cares for every detail of their lives.

Peter’s presence in our lives was a gift. He didn’t just touch my heart — he impacted my whole family. I can’t wait to see the incredible things God will do through his life.

Capturing Gabriella’s Smile

Just six days before Gabriella went to be with the Lord, I had the immense honor of meeting her and her beautiful family for a very special photography session. None of us knew how little time was left, but in those sacred moments, love was all around. We laughed, we embraced, and we captured memories that now hold even deeper meaning.

Gabriella’s strength, her light, and the love of her family were so present in every frame. I still carry the weight and the honor of being trusted to help preserve these moments — not just as photographs, but as a lasting reminder of the joy, connection, and grace that filled her life.

It is never lost on me how powerful a portrait can be. Sometimes, it becomes more than a picture — it becomes a treasure.

To Gabriella’s family: thank you for allowing me into such a vulnerable and beautiful part of your journey. My heart is with you, and I pray these memories bring comfort and peace in the days ahead.

Gabriella’s Celebration Service

We gathered to celebrate the life of sweet Gabriella — a life that, though far too short, left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.

The church was filled with family, friends, and loved ones, all there to honor her memory and surround her family with love and support. It was a beautiful reflection of just how deeply Gabriella was cherished.

One of the most powerful moments was watching her parents worship God — right there in front of their daughter. In the midst of their grief, they chose to lift their hands in praise. It was a profound expression of faith, strength, and trust in God. That kind of worship, in such a sacred moment, spoke volumes about the hope they hold onto — the hope that comes only from Him.

Gabriella’s life was a gift. Her light will continue to shine through the lives she touched. And while her absence is deeply felt, we rest in the promise that this is not the end — we will see her again.

Bulverde/Spring Branch Belle of the Ball Project

What an incredible day in our community!

Through the Bulverde/Spring Branch Angel Belle of the Ball Project, we witnessed something truly special — a beautiful outpouring of generosity, kindness, and joy. Thanks to the love and support of our amazing community, hundreds of prom dresses were donated for local teens to choose from. Each dress represented more than just a piece of clothing — it was a reminder that every young person deserves to feel seen, celebrated, and confident.

We hosted a joyful event where anyone could come and shop for a dress and accessories at an incredibly affordable price. Laughter filled the room, mirrors reflected glowing smiles, and stories were shared as dresses were tried on with excitement and hope.

To make the day even more fun, we held a fashion show — and it was such a hit! Local girls walked the runway, modeling the donated dresses with grace and joy. It was more than just a show — it was a celebration of self-worth, dignity, and community coming together to uplift one another.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, and helped make this event possible. Your generosity is making a difference, one dress and one smile at a time.
